Wide Awake Energy Mints
Wide Awake Energy Mints are sugar-free breath mints but with added caffeine, taurine, and B vitamins.
The main sweetener in these peppermint flavored mints is xylitol which is recommended by dentists as a way to fight dental cavities and gum disease as long as a person has at least 5 exposures to xylitol daily.
Wide Awake Energy Mints Review
The company recently sent us some samples of Wide Awake Energy Mints for review.
I'm a fan of energy mints and often use them during travel and during my outdoor adventures. They're highly portable and provide a nice caffeine lift when drinking a coffee isn't an option. On big hikes, an energy mint can really help me push through those last several miles.
Therefore, I was excited to try Wide Awake Mints because it's a product I use and unlike other energy mints I've tried, this brand is sweetened with xylitol which is something my dentist recently recommended.
Flavor
Wide Awake Mints have a strong peppermint flavor and do a good job of freshening the breath.
However, my only complaint with these energy mints is that they are pretty soft and dissolve a bit too quickly for my liking. I like to be able to savor the mint a little longer.
Effect
As for effect, Wide Awake delivers on its promise and provides a noticeable lift. I do like the fact that each mint contains only 50 mg of caffeine which allows a person to control their dosage a little better than the 100 mg mints I've used in the past.
Wide Awake Mints also contain taurine and an assortment of B-vitamins which aren't immediately perceived by the user but can have a more long-term effect on energy levels.
Overall, Wide Awake Energy Mints are a convenient choice for those that want a quick boost of energy while on the go.
These mints are intended for healthy adults only and should be consumed at a rate of no more than 4 mints per hour or 8 mints total daily to stay within the safe caffeine dose recommended for most healthy adults.
