Molotov Energy Drink with Tapatio Hot Sauce
Now I thought I had seen and tasted nearly every kind of energy drink on this planet, yet I couldn’t have been more wrong.
Right when I’m getting sick of the same ol same ol energy drinks, Molotov goes and shakes things up. How did they do that?
By taking their drink, and adding HOT SAUCE to it! So I just had to give Molotov Energy with Tapatio a try, its either going to be really good, or really bad…
Taste
As soon as the can was opened, I quickly got the aroma of the spicy contents and it definitely cleared out my sinuses. So now that my head was completely clear, I dove in. The very first taste of Molotov is very good, a nice mango taste, but that DIDN’T last long. Quickly, very quickly the sweet mango taste is swallowed up by a very strong Tapatio hot sauce flavor (kind of a black pepper taste).
The taste of the sauce is very strong, they put A LOT of it into the can. It doesn’t end there, the drink tickles (slightly burns) going down the throat.
Molotov Ingredients
Molotov Energy Drink packs in 2000mg of Taurine, 400mg Ginseng, 40mg of Niacin and 54g of sugar with a calorie content of 240. Nothing too different there, pretty normal, except for one more thing. Molotov contains your typical “energy blend”, yet this blend is 5000mg, including an undisclosed Caffeine amount, Guarana, Inositol, Glucuronolactone, and L-Carnitine
Effect
I seemed to get a very good feeling for quite some time after finishing the can of Molotov Energy Drink. I wasn’t jittery, just a long lasting rush. Must have been a combination of the “energy blend” and the load of hot sauce that the drink possesses. The energy rush hit me almost immediately and didn’t waver for about 4 or 5 hours.
Molotov Energy Tapatio Verdict
I was not a fan of the unique flavor that this drink provided me with, yet the boost and rush that Motolov Energy Drink gave did overcome the taste downfall. Yet even with the great boost, the taste of the Tapatio hot sauce was to overpowering to keep me coming back. The first hit of mango taste was excellent, yet the Tapatio taste was just to strong for my liking.
