Nano Coffee Energy Tablets; Caffeine Consumption in the 21st Century

It has been predicted that in the not too distant future whole meals will be provided to us in pill form.

The concept epitomizes efficiency and convenience and although the idea doesn’t appeal to me in the least bit, it is still something that would be interesting to see.

The latest energy product to hit the market gives a glimpse of what such a high-tech world might look like and personally, I can’t say I like what I’ve seen. Technology meets Caffeine with the introduction of Nano Coffee Energy Tablets.

Nano Is An Understatement

Nano Coffee tries to take the best of both worlds by combining all the usual energy drink ingredients and the ease of pill consumption. The list of active ingredients is rather lengthy, including vitamin C, niacin, Vitamin B6 B12 B5, Folate, Chromium, Guarana seed extract, caffeine (from natural sources), glucuronolactone, Columbian roasted coffee bean (for smell), Taurine, and green tea leaf extract. In all, each tablet contains 200mg of caffeine which can be overkill for those less experienced. Nothing out of the ordinary for supplemental energy today but definitely not too shabby.

Taking both pills out of the rather attractive brown, orange, and lime-green package I was immediately greeted with a pleasant coffee smell. Although different from fresh ground coffee it closely resembled an artificial “Folgers” smell that urged me to pop one without a seconds hesitation. Time to take a trip down the rabbit hole.

The Power of Pills

The major difference between energy drinks and energy supplements is the amount of time spent waiting for the effects. Pills take around 30-45 minutes before the first effects are felt, where as drinks for me take only 15-20. However, this just so happens to work in favor of the “Long Lasting Energy!” claim on the pack of Nano Tablets. See, caffeine (or any stimulant for that matter) has a tendency to cause a “crash” in energy proportional to the “peak” it gives prior. The faster caffeine is absorbed into the bloodstream, the greater the peak, thus providing shorter lasting energy. What supplemental pills hope to achieve is a longer absorption time resulting in a very long lasting energy. From my experience with Nano Coffee, pills do just that.

Truthfully, the pills worked better than I expected them to, but due to my (unhealthily monstrously high) tolerance level with caffeine I didn’t feel much of anything until I took both. Keep in mind the packet suggests only taking one at a time and warns of limiting yourself to four a day. Once the effects did hit they were mild but pleasant. There we no signs of the jitters and I felt colder than I usually do after having large amounts of caffeine. I can only compare it to sleeping a full 9 or more hours and needless to say, I was ready to be productive. Five hours later I had done just about everything I had needed to do for the next three days and wasn’t even close to crashing. In fact, that crash never did come.

The Future Looks Bleak

Even after all this though, my opinion of Nano Tablets is heavily mixed. If people of the future do end up eating their meals in pill form, when will they get to enjoy the way Jello jiggles, or mashed potatoes mash? It will only satisfy the necessity of eating. In much the same way, taking tablet form caffeine only satisfies the craving. There’s no flavor to enjoy, no fizz to tingle, and nothing to savor. All I can suggest is that if your in the market for on-the-go energy and don’t like chewing energy gum then this is the product for you. A box of 30 packs costs around $50 with shipping and can be purchased from the Nano Coffee Energy Website.
