Performance Caffeine is an energy shot developed for athletes as a way to keep both their physical and mental endurance elevated during workouts. 

It seeks to achieve this by using two primary ingredients:

Caffeine: Each 2 fl oz shot contains 180 mg of caffeine. To date, there have been several peer-reviewed studies that show caffeine helps with athletic performance.

ALPHA GPC: This is a natural choline compound found in the bain and it is believed to help with memory and learning as well as enhance growth hormone synthesis. 

Along with the two primary ingredients, Performance Caffeine also delivers 50% RDA of vitamins B3, B5, and, B6 plus provides 100% RDA of vitamin C and a dose of malic acid.

The company sent us samples of each flavor to review and here's what I discovered after trying Performance Caffeine.

Flavor? 

The flavor of both varieties was ok. Nothing special to note and was pretty similar to most energy shots I've tried over the years. However, both flavors were definitely drinkable and at only 2 fl oz, they go down pretty fast. 

Effect?

What Performance Caffeine lacked in the flavor department, it made up for it with the perceived effect.

I consumed a shot about 30 minutes prior to my workout and I experienced a noticeable lift in my performance while at the gym and was able to push out a few more reps than usual.

I also still felt mentally sharp over 4 hours after the shot was consumed which is notable.

I usually have a double espresso prior to working out but Performance Caffeine did a much better job of assisting me at the gym than my usual caffeine only pre-workout. 

Overall, Performance Caffeine is a solid energy shot product and is an effective pre-workout aid for gym-goers and athletes. The caffeine level is perfect and the other added ingredients do a nice job of rounding out the effect.
