Mountain Dew Kickstart
Mountain Dew Kickstart is marketed as a healthier way to start your day than a traditional energy drink, soda, coffee, or tea.
Note: In Canada, Kick Start has just 83 mg of caffeine per 473 ml can.
Pepsi Co. states that Kickstart isn't an energy drink, but an enhanced soft drink. They believe that Mountain Dew fans will turn to this product as a healthier breakfast beverage alternative than regular Mountain Dew.
Because of the success of Kickstart, they recently introduced two new varieties that are designed to be more appealing for nighttime consumption.

The drink is available in 6 flavors.
- Orange Citrus and Fruit Punch (Morning)
- Limeade and Black Cherry (Evening)
- Pinapple Orange Mango: (Hydrating Booost) 68 mg of caffeine/can
- Strawberry Kiwi: (Hydrating Boost) 68 mg of caffeine/can
Ingredients in Mountain Dew Kickstart
Kickstart is 5% fruit juice with artificial sweeteners used to reduce the amount of sugar in the beverage. Besides the 92 mg of caffeine per 16 oz can, Mountain Dew Kickstart has a dose of Vitamin C and B vitamins as well.
The Hydrating Boost flavors contain 10% juice as well as coconut water, but come in 12 floz cans. They have just 60 calories per can by using sweeteners Ace-k and Sucralose.
Other brands have attempted juice hybrid morning drinks in the past, but failed. It will be interesting to see if Mountain Dew Kickstart will be able to win enough fans to keep this soft drink in production.
